Let’s talk trends! First things first: I have to remind you that just because something is trendy doesn’t mean it has to be for you and just because something isn’t on trend doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear it. Style is all about YOU. What makes you feel good? What makes you feel confident? What makes you feel unique? That’s the beauty of style is that it is yours, so have fun with it and be yourself!
Fashion trends can be intimidating and they can also go really really wrong. A lot of times people think dressing in a bunch of trends will make them look more modern and more well trendy but that logic often has the opposite effect. Instead, incorporate one or two trends in your outfit to avoid looking noisy and confused. This will help you feel like YOU while still getting to play around and have fun with new styles.
Here are my favorite trends that you can easily start incorporating into your closet.

Texture, Texture, Texture
No better time for textures to make an entrance than in the winter. Think sherpa, shearling, faux fur, feathers, even embellishments. Textures add dimension and visual interest to your outfit while being super practical for the cold weather.
Oversized Knits
I guess not technically a trend as knits will never go out of style but the oversized silhouette feels even more relevant in 2022. Our lifestyles continue to be fluid. We work in the same spaces we eat, clean, cook, and sleep. Comfort and quality is key. A loose sweater dress is the ultimate wardrobe maximizer. Wear it as-is with sneakers and a jacket or belt it and pair with boots for a sleek and sophisticated look.
All Things Leather
Leather pants, leather dresses, leather jackets, leather EVERYTHING is on the radar right now. Swap out your leather leggings for leather trousers to elevate your look or swap your wool jacket for a leather blazer for an edgier vibe.
Knee High Boots
They key to mile long looking legs is a great pair of knee high boots. This shoe is as versatile as it comes. Wear them with a mid length dress or over top of denim – either way your legs are going to look like they just stepped off the runway.
Sparkle and Shine
The holidays are over but metallics and shine are still having their moment. Adding materials like patent leather, moiré, and metallics are the easiest way to take a day time look into the night. Try pairing your shiny statement pieces with more casual items from your closet to keep your outfit fresh and practical.
Skin Baring Cutouts
Skin is in! This style is much easier to incorporate in the summer when you’re looking for any way to keep cool but can still be achieved in the cold months too. Try a knit sweater with a shoulder cutout to stay seasonally appropriate and on trend.
Bold Colors
I’m a neutral girl through and through but something about a pop of color can really change my mood. Red is great for a boost of confidence, blue can make you feel more at ease, and yellow can send your endorphins through the roof. Have even more fun with your pops of color by playing with texture. Make a statement with a bright velvet piece or add a little pop to an all black outfit with bright and bold shearling bag.
